Levin and Kitty are getting married. Anna is very close to death. Alexei Alexandrovich forgives all of it. Vronsky attempts suicide by shooting himself in chest with a revolver cause life itself had no remaining meaning to him. The happiness he has known was about to taken away from him.
I don’t understand Anna, what she feels, why she acts this way. Maybe the explanation is as simple as Stephan put it. She was married to a man 20 years older than her before she knew of love. She fell in love with a man who was not her husband. And nothing makes sense more.
Or maybe there’s more to it. I do not know.
